After a CAPES in French at the Marien Ngouabi University of the Congo in 2005, Rufin Mbou Mikima decided, with the support of the French Embassy in the Congo, to pursue cinema studies in Grenoble.

This is how he obtained a Master 2 in creative documentary production in 2007 before enrolling in a thesis on cinema the same year. Doctoral thesis that he will eventually give up in 2012.

From 2005, he swapped his jacket as a high school teacher of letters for that of a filmmaker he tried at the end of his high school years.

2008 : He creates Inzo ya bizizi, a film and audiovisual production company in Pointe Noire, Republic of Congo.

2013 : Created with French-Senegalese filmmaker Angèle Diabang and Patricia Courché, THE FILMS OF LINER, a film and audiovisual production company based in Le Havre.

Since December 2016, founder and director of SARL Havraise Mikaté Productions.

Director, producer, trainer, festival programmer and initiator of the collective of Congolese filmmakers «To zali», based in France, in Le Havre, Rufin Mbou Mikima defines himself as a maker of images and storyteller of lives.
