Thales ZOKENE is a Congolese artist with many hats: Actor, Storyteller, Playwright, Slammer, Performer, Art Critic and Artistic Director of the Cie Socle d’Art Contemporain (SAC).
Very comic and reverent in his early childhood, he began in 2003 in the dance Hip-hop and rap, arts in which he did not make long field.
It was when he enrolled in Savorgnan De Brazza High School in 2005 that he discovered the theatre under the direction of Anderson BOULESSI. His assiduity and determination ensure that these praises do not stay under the bushel.
He participated in the Mantsina Festival on stage in Brazzaville, Festival of scenic reading in Kinshasa, DRC, RIAPL in Dolisie Brazzaville-Congo, the Dakar Biennial in Senegal, Tuséo Festival in Brazzaville, Festival 1, 2, 3 CONTEZ in Rouen, France…
Thales ZOKENE is part of a semiological research logic between the different arts through a rapprochement with its basic medium.
This perpetual quest for the beautiful, the real leads him to the experimentation of a style: «pingpong» which allows the artist to make a nuance between «speed» and «precipitation» to understand the law of distancing (between him the person and the artist) through a program called DISCOURSE AND BODY.
It is under this theme that he animates the theatre workshops and public speaking to professionals and amateurs of this art, in his company SAC, in private and public schools, in orphanages… for many years.
The objective during these workshops is to allow the participant to discover the workings of the body, to expand its capacity for movement, language and expressiveness.
Also to evaluate the image that each one makes of his body, while putting back into plays the moments, the organization, and the model of someone in movement. The body itself is a language, a discourse.
